Higher Ground’s East Timor coffee offers a sweet, full-bodied cup with a mild acidity and wonderful cinnamon-like overtones. All of Higher Ground’s coffees are Fair Trade, organic, and shade grown. Fair Trade certification enables the farmers who grow our coffees to keep their family owned farms and benefit from economic and educational programs, while growing a great organic crop. Our coffees are also grown in the shade of the forest canopy—preserving ancient forests and natural habitat for innumerable species of plants and animals.

FAIRER MEANS
With the added income from Fair trade sales, the Café Timor Coop has been able to:

• Establish a skills development program that provides members with training in bookkeeping, management, English, and computer skills
• Create a healthcare program with nine health clinics and several mobile health clinics—providing free healthcare to all Coop members
